Portuguese side Sporting now have a ‘total agreement’ with Manchester City loanee Pedro Porro, according to today’s front page story from newspaper Record.
After months of rumours, it’s claimed that the Lions finally reached a deal to tie the player with a contract until 2025 and a release clause worth €45m.
Now it’s time for Sporting to conclude the agreement with Manchester City, and despite the buying option to have the player for €8.5m, it’s said the English side may push for another kind of deal.
Record claims that Pep Guardiola’s side are interested in including a buy-back clause in the deal, which would be something similar to what they did with Angeliño and PSV.
While the clubs discuss that possibility, it’s said Sporting will be tough in the talks, as they had already been attempting to pay less for the move.
They’re still trying to do that by affording 100% of the player’s salary until the end of the loan next summer, as they currently only pay 50%.
Now once the clubs finally complete the permanent transfer, it isn’t guaranteed that Porro still stay in Lisbon.
Record mentions that his name is echoed in Europe’s best leagues, and there are ‘strong possibilities’ that the Lions will receive good bids for him in the upcoming transfer windows.
