French outlet Foot Mercato today reports AS Monaco’s efforts for the signing of Malang Sarr from Chelsea.
The website writes that the Ligue 1 side are ‘currently pushing very hard’ to land the Blues’ defender.
According to the story, despite a ‘fierce competition’ from Fulham, Sarr is now closer to Monaco, who’ve been in negotiations with Chelsea for a loan with an option to buy.
The outlet doesn’t bring any more details on the story, as for how much would this clause be, or if the Craven Cottage side are also looking for a loan.
On Twitter, journalist Santi Aouna writes that Monaco’s pursuit is ‘deemed to be on track’, and states that Fulham actually ‘made an offer’ to take the player away from Stamford Bridge.
The defender, who joined the Blues on a free move from Nice in 2020, was first loaned to Porto for the 2020/21 season, and in the 2021/22 season with the Blues he only made 21 appearances, eight of them in the Premier League.
