A couple of days after Fernandinho announced he should not stay at Manchester City following the end of the season, the Brazilian media starts getting a better picture of the clubs who could bring him back to his country.
With recent reports claiming Corinthians are one of the interested clubs, Jorge Nicola went to seek information on the rumour and contacted an official from the Timão.
According to what he learned, the club are not interested in signing Fernandinho, and the reason for that is his age, as he turns 37 next month.
Corinthians already have former Arsenal and Chelsea winger Willian, as well as former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho, and are now looking for younger options to join their squad.
As things stand, Atletico Mineiro and Fernandinho’s former club Athletico Paranaense are claimed to be the favourites to sign the Manchester City player in the summer.
Even though it was many times reported Fernandinho would have a chance to have a coaching role at Manchester City, Brazilian clubs are quite excited about the possibility of signing him for free, and so they should be after his calming cameo against Atlético Madrid on Wednesday night.
