Takvim report Sporting Lisbon will struggle to pay Islam Slimani’s yearly salary as the Portuguese club look to sign the Leicester City forward.
Slimani, who’s currently on loan at Fenerbahce, has been a disappointment for the Turkish club and in recent weeks he’s been frozen out by their manager Ersun Yanal.
The Leicester City flop is currently training with Fenerbahce’a reserves but Sporting are still looking to sign him this summer. However, Takvim today claim talks with Leicester City and the Portuguese giants have stopped due to Slimani’s demands.
According to Takvim, Leicester City want Sporting to cover half of Slimani’s yearly wages, but the Portuguese club have told the Foxes they can’t offer this.
The Algerian striker has scored just one league goal for Fenerbahce this season and after his poor form this season in the Super Lig, Leicester City will need to work hard to find a buyer this summer.
Slimani is under contract at the King Power Stadium until June 2021.
