Yet to feature under Jürgen Klopp this season at Liverpool, it’s fair to say that Thiago Alcantara’s future is unlikely to be at Anfield.

While no transfer materialised for the Spain international over the course of the summer, one could take place in the coming days, with Turkey’s transfer window shutting on Friday.

The news comes from Aksam, who claim that Trabzonspor, after signing Nicolas Pépé from Arsenal on a free, are after the Liverpool midfielder.

Described as a ‘surprising development’, the move to go after the Reds man shows the ambition the team have, and they have ‘pressed the button’ to start a potential transfer.

Aksam explain Trabzonspor ‘will not slow down’ on the transfer market, and want to add the Liverpool player to their squad in the next two days.

Thiago, down his end, knows he won’t play much at Anfield, and therefore wants to go somewhere ‘where he can start’.

However, with most transfer windows shut, his options are limited, leaving Turkey as his only real option.

Thiago is said to have been offered a ‘signing on fee and annual salary’ just like Pépé, and it’s likely that they will want Liverpool to terminate his contract, just like Arsenal did with the Ivory Coast international, to get this done.
