Boca Juniors have turned down Brighton’s offer for the transfer of Alexis Mac Allister, the club president has confirmed.
The Seagulls have tried to cut short the midfielder’s loan spell in Buenos Aires and take him to England for a fee of €500k, according to reports.
But when speaking to Radio Nacional on Tuesday afternoon, Jorge Amor Ameal has claimed that negotiations didn’t advance, and Mac Allister is staying at Boca Juniors until the end of the spell.
More than keeping him until the summer, the La Bombonera side don’t hide their wish to have the midfielder for longer. That’s why Ameal has also confirmed that there are talks with Brighton for a permanent move.
“Mac Allister will continue to play until June. Then, we will talk to the people of the English team, who were at Sunday’s game at the Bombonera. All this has to happen,” said Ameal (via TyC).
Earlier today, when speaking to the local press, the player’s father has claimed that his work permit for the Premier League is only valid until the summer. Mac Allister doesn’t have an EU passport, and would have to make a new request in case he joins the Seagulls in July.
