Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny joined Beşiktaş on a season-long loan deal in August and has so far impressed during his short spell in Turkey.
On December 6th, we covered claims from Turkey that Beşiktaş will face competition from Valencia and Leicester City to sign the midfielder on a permanent transfer. A week ago, Tuttosport reported Milan have also identified the Egypt international as a January target.
Calciomercato now states the Serie A side thought about signing the 27-year-old a few months ago. He now has a chance to join them in January as it’s claimed the player is ‘approaching’ the San Siro.
Sacha Empacher, director of Spocs sports consulting agency, met Milan official several times last summer while negotiating Ozan Muhammed Kabak, who joined Schalke from VfB Stuttgart in the summer.
Milan are looking to bring in an experienced midfielder and are now ‘considering closing the deal’ for Elneny. In addition to this, his entourage also have a ‘positive feeling’ about the possibility of the move materialising in the mid-season window.
The report is followed by claims made by Elneny’s father about Milan’s interest.
“The negotiations between Mohamed and Milan are at an advanced stage, but the contract has not yet been signed,” Nasser told TV channel Sada Al Balad.
“They have renewed interest in my son and the next few hours could be decisive with Milan. He did well with Besiktas but wants to move to a stronger league at Milan.”
