Even before he signed from Marseille, Azzedine Ounahi was interesting a few Premier League clubs, among which could be found Brentford a bit later on.
The midfielder decided to stay in France after leaving Amiens, but his move to the south of the country hasn’t quite gone to plan, as he isn’t an undisputed starter there.
This has opened the door for a potential move in January, and L’Equipe explain that Brentford are still after the Morocco international.
Looking at some of the business that could be done over the next few weeks at Marseille, they explain that a few Premier League clubs are lurking for a few players.
Brentford are one of those, as he ‘still interests’ the Bees, who were already trying to get him last August, and Marseille are ‘open to an exit’.
He isn’t the only player they want from the Ligue 1 side, as L’Equipe echo yesterday’s claims from Foot Mercato that they also enjoy the idea of signing Renan Lodi.
However, for the defender, the case is very different to Ounahi, as it’s ‘unlikely’ to see him leave Marseille in the January transfer window.
