Turkish newspaper Fotomac claim Galatasaray have been offered the chance to sign Southampton defender Wesley Hoedt.
The Dutch defender, who’s currently on loan at Belgian club Royal Antwerp, is due to return to his parent club, but Fotomac say Galatasaray could be his next destination.
It’s stated the Premier League side offered Hoedt to Galatasaray in their recent meetings regarding the future of Mario Lemina, and the Gala officials have now forwarded this proposal to the club’s manager Fatih Terim.
After analysing the profile of the player, Terim is reportedly happy to bring in Hoedt, as the Turkish coach believes his side will need a defender for next season regardless of Christian Luyindama’s situation.
Southampton paid €16m to Lazio for Hoedt in 2017, but the 26-year-old has fallen out of favour at St Mary’s.
He spent last season in La Liga with Celta Vigo and was then loaned out to Royal Antwerp after Ralf Hasenhüttl deemed him surplus to requirements in his plans for the 2019-20 campaign.
The former AZ Alkmaar defender still has two years left on his current contract at Southampton.
