Liverpool target Antonio Silva is expected to be held by Benfica this summer, according to reports from Portugal.
Newspaper Jornal de Notícias writes that following the big sale of Enzo Fernández to Chelsea, the Eagles feel no need to let the defender go in the next transfer window.
With this ‘financial comfort’, Benfica will protecting the player with this release clause, which stands at €100m.
Speaking of clubs who are interested in the defender, Jornal de Notícias mentions the recent links with Borussia Dortmund, and then recalls that Paris Saint Germain, Liverpool and Manchester City also follow the 19-year-old.
The Reds’ interest in Silva has indeed been reported by the Portuguese press many times this season, even though he’s said to be drawing the attention from other Premier League sides as well.
But it turns out that this is not the first time that the local media claims Benfica will only let him go for €100m.
The Eagles see huge potential in the youngster, who’s already a pillar of their defense, and Liverpool better prepare to spend big in case they really come for him.
