Well, it appears that Lecce and Celtic are on the verge of agreeing a deal for a January move involving Gustaf Lagerbielke leaving Brendan Rodgers’ squad.
The move comes from Gianluca Di Marzio in Italy, who took to X, formerly Twitter, to bring the news that the Celtic Park residents and the Serie A side are ‘closing’ the deal.
This means that Lagerbielke, who was only bought by Celtic in the summer, will be discovering Italian football during the second half of the campaign.
It had been previously reported that Lecce were struggling to meet the centre-back’s wages and needed help from Brendan Rodgers’ side.
That meant Celtic paying a portion of his salary between now and the end of the campaign, and if Di Marzio is saying that the deal is close to being completed, then maybe the Scottish Premiership side agreed to something along those lines.
He adds on his website that the ‘final bureaucratic details’ are being ‘ironed out’, after which the defender will be able to undergo the necessary medical.
However, it isn’t said whether this is a loan or a full transfer, although our money would be on the former.
