On Thursday morning, we’ve covered a story from Portuguese newspaper Record which said Manchester United and Juventus were both ready to spend €180m so they could sign João Félix and Ruben Dias from Benfica.
On the very same day, Italian newspaper Tuttosport said the Old Lady were already making the first moves, and would be offering Marko Pjaca in the deal for Dias, so they wouldn’t have to spend the €60m of his release clause.
But it seems Juventus’ plans didn’t last long, because according to Record today, Benfica are not accepting that offer, giving the Italian side no advantage over Manchester United.
The newspaper claims that the Eagles are only taking cash, and will only let the duo go for the amount of their release clauses, which are €60m for Dias and €120m for João Félix.
Record says once again that Manchester United and Juventus will both keep trying to negotiate to get these players for less than those amounts, but are ready to pay that if needed.
