The Sadio Mane to Real Madrid story is slowly building.
Earlier this week, France Football explained that Zinedine Zidane had been interested in the Liverpool player a year ago, before the manager decided to leave the Spanish club.
They stated the interest remained, and from there talk of a summer move has grown.
El Confidencial have an interesting article today and explain Madrid president Florentino Perez keeps the dream of signing Neymar and/or Kylian Mbappe. However, he knows that isn’t realistic right now so he needs to listen to Zidane and please his manager with actual recruits.
That’s where Eden Hazard and Sadio Mane come in, and they’re the targets which El Confidencial push forward.
Zidane ‘would be delighted’ if the club signed ‘mainly’ the Liverpool player.
Perez would need to ‘put all the meat on the grill’ to get Mane, and, just like during the Philippe Coutinho saga, Liverpool are referred to as a selling club.
The response from Anfield would likely be to laugh this one off, and the only way this becomes a problem for the Reds is if Mane learns of serious Real Madrid interest and agitates for a move.
