With Edinson Cavani wanting a move away from Paris Saint-Germain in January, the Ligue 1 winners are looking to bring in a new forward to replace the Uruguayan.
On January 24th, we covered claims from Foot Mercato that Thomas Tuchel’s side have shortlisted Leicester City’s Islam Slimani (currently on loan at AS Monaco) and Real Madrid’s Luka Jović as targets.
Later that day, the same website explained Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been added to PSG’s list of attacker targets.
It’s claimed Tuchel is not motivated to sign Jović and he has another profile in mind, which is the Gunners star.
The leaders of the Paris based club met with the Gabon international’s entourage to check out the possibility of signing him. PSG’s idea is to take Aubameyang on a loan deal with an option to buy, which sounds very unlikely indeed.
Back in 2018, the player had informed Tuchel about his desire to move to Paris, but PSG’s then sporting director Antero Henrique wasn’t keen.
Even though the French champions are looking at Aubameyang, Foot Mercato are ‘not sure’ if Arsenal would be ready to allow one of their best players to leave in January.
