If you believe all of the transfer rumours going around these days, we could end up with a lovely merry-go-round of strikers this summer, as players like Lautaro Martínez, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Timo Werner reportedly all possibly changing clubs.
It’s the first two we will be looking at today, as FC Inter News continue their reporting of who could end up replacing the Argentine at the Serie A club should he move to Barcelona.
The striker has been heavily linked with a move away from San Siro, and the player touted the most to take his spot has been the Arsenal star.
It seems a lot stems from the fact the Gabon international hasn’t renewed his contract at the Emirates yet, as he’ll only have a year left on his deal come the end of the season.
That, of course, makes him a prime target for a transfer, as it’ll be one of the last opportunities for Arsenal to recoup some of their £60m expenditure from 2018.
According to FC Inter News, the player would require a salary similar to Christian Eriksen’s if he were to move to the Italian side, who have already taken that into account.
It’s said ‘first contracts’ have already been taken with Aubameyang’s entourage, and they have been described as ‘positive’.
The website also points out this isn’t the first time Inter have been after the striker, having already made attempts to get him when he was at Borussia Dortmund.
