L’Equipe’s report from a couple of days ago on Paris Saint-Germain potentially making a move for Fabinho in January hasn’t gone unnoticed by other members of the French press, and Le10 Sport have done some digging of their own, or so they claim.
The French website, which enjoys a rather hit and miss reputation when it comes to transfer rumours, confirm the Ligue 1 champions have indeed placed the Brazilian on their January shortlist, but, and they make that clear, he isn’t their priority.
Our guess, judging by other reports from the past few months, is that Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucouré is ahead of him, but that’s just us thinking out loud, and not included in Le10’s report.
What they do state, however, and this is a step further than L’Equipe went, is Paris Saint-Germain have already initiated ‘first manoeuvres’ to find out more about Fabinho’s situation at Liverpool.
Having wanted him prior to his move to Anfield, they’ll know exactly who to call, so that part shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
What will be, and we’ve explained this in other articles, is convincing Liverpool to let their summer signing go so soon, especially after Jürgen Klopp made it publicly clear the defensive midfielder wasn’t going anywhere.
