On Thursday, Fotospor reported Fenerbahçe’s talks with Liverpool over a deal for Divock Origi were ‘progressing very quickly’.
It was also stated the Turkish club’s president, Ali Koç, had a jet ‘waiting in Liverpool’ to take the striker to Istanbul yesterday so that they could add him to their UEFA list.
That, however, didn’t happen and the 26-year-old is still with the Merseyside club. The Yellow Canaries haven’t lost hope of landing the Reds frontman before the window in Turkey closes on September 8th.
Fotomac now claim the Süper Lig side ‘took action’ to sign the Belgium international.
Their editor-in-chief, Zeki Uzundurukan, explains Fenerbahçe ‘started initiatives’ for the frontman, who is valued at €12m.
The former Lille man has struggled for regular playing time under Jürgen Klopp, managing just over 500 minutes of action across 17 matches in all competitions last season. He is yet to appear for the Anfield club this campaign.
Another report from Fotomac provides a short update, stating Fenerbahçe ‘made an offer’ for Origi and ‘there may be a surprise in the coming days’ with regards to the Liverpool player’s future.
