Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola today shares some updates on the situation of Watford striker João Pedro.
The reporter comes up with a ‘tip’ for clubs from the player’s home country, as following the Hornets’ relegation to the Championship, he could leave Vicarage Road this summer.
Nicola claims there’s one Brazilian side who have already made a move for the signing. That’s Red Bull Bragantino, who sought information on João Pedro’s situation.
It’s said the price for the transfer isn’t the biggest problem, as the difficulty would be matching the salary the striker currently has at Watford.
João Pedro, who has a contract with Watford running until 2025, had four goals and one assist in 29 appearances for the Hornets in the recently concluded domestic season.
The report points out that the player could be a ‘market opportunity’ this summer as the club may have to rebuild their squad for the Championship.
Given his age, it would be strange to see him returning to Brazil at this stage, especially with such a long contract with Watford in his hands. A lot could depend on other opportunities showing up in Europe.
