Club Brugge have showed interest in signing Christian Benteke from Crystal Palace in the previous two windows, but the striker wasn’t in favour of leaving Selhurst Park.
The Jupiler Pro League winners still retain an interest in the 30-year-old, who has made only one start for the Eagles, which came in his side’s 5-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
Benteke starred for Roy Hodgson’s side, scoring a brace in Palace’s latest win.
According to Voetbal 24, the Belgium international was and is still on Club Brugge’s transfer wish-list and they ‘would love to bring’ the Belgium international to the club.
However, the player isn’t in favour of joining them.
Benteke had maintained this stance in the winter 2020 market and also in the last window. Club Brugge contacted his entourage, but the Crystal Palace frontman wasn’t interested in joining them.
As per the report, it doesn’t look like Benteke will move to Club Brugge in January either because he wants to continue to fight for a place at the Premier League side.
In addition to this, the attacker ‘likes to live in London’ and that too plays an ‘important role’ when it comes to leaving Palace.
