Turkish newspaper Aksam report Trabzonspor are considering signing Ragnar Klavan from Liverpool.
The Turkish club are in the market for a central defender in this transfer window as they’ve already been linked with a move for Sunderland’s Papy Djilobodji, Newcastle United’s Chancel Mbemba and Chelsea’s Kenneth Omeruo.
Aksam say the latest name on Trabzonspor’s short list is Klavan and the Turkish club are currently exploring the posssibilty of signing the Liverpool player.
The 32 year old is only a squad player at Liverpool and whilst he knew that was always going to be the case, speaking openly about it at the time of his transfer, he may at some stage fancy more regular football.
In January the Merseyside club brought in Virgil van Dijk from Southampton which pushed Klaven further down the pecking order, and if a good opportunity presents itself then it would be understandable if the player considers it.
Klavan only has a year left on his current Liverpool contract and Aksam report the Turkish club will try their best in to convince him to move to Turkey, but they know it’s going to be hard.
