According to a claim in the Greek media, Olympiacos aren’t looking to sell their captain Kostas Fortounis, but if an ‘outrageous offer’ is made then they may consider transfer talks.
Yesterday we covered reports from the Greek press that West Ham United have made a €10m bid to sign the attacking midfielder after their sporting director Mario Husillos identified him as a target.
Hussilos worked work with the Greece international during the Argentine’s spell with Olympiacos.
However, Sdna report despite the Greek giants receiving a €10m bid they are not interested in selling Fortounis for such a transfer fee as they value him higher.
With 12 goals last season, Fortounis is seen as a key player at Olympiacos and subsequently they wouldn’t consider selling him for €10m.
It’s also reported the midfielder wants to remain in his home country and he is close to signing a three year contract extension which would take him up June 2023
West Ham would have to improve their initial offer, if the interest is genuine and the Hammers want to get a deal done.
