For over a year, we’ve covered the many rumours about Matteo Darmian’s departure from Manchester United. The fullback has been linked to almost every club in Serie A, although it was Inter Milan’s name who constantly got a mention.
The 29-year-old ended up leaving Old Trafford this summer in a €1.5m move to Parma, and it turns out he may not stay there for a long time.
Newspaper Corriere Dello Sport brings an interesting story today saying Inter Milan could now do a smart coup and land him directly from their Serie A rivals.
It’s claimed that when negotiating with Inter, Manchester United have always exaggerated their demands, and they would never sell to the Nerazzurri for the same price they did with Parma.
Darmian is still not a certain target for Inter, but Corriere say he’s become an option for the January market. He’s very praised and would be signed ‘in case of need’.
The fullback hasn’t even made his debut for Parma yet, and in case this story is confirmed, Manchester United certainly won’t be covering themselves in glory here.
