Aleksandar Mitrovic is finding the back of the net for Fulham on a regular basis.
So far this season he’s scored 21 Championship goals in 18 appearances in the competition, adding five assists along the way. He’s a huge reason why the Cottagers currently find themselves top of the table, and look very well placed for promotion to the Premier League.
It’s a big change to last season, as Mitrovic was in and out of the side, and scored just three Premier League goals as Fulham were relegated from the top flight.
The 27-year-old is also a renewed hero for his country, helping send Serbia to the Qatar World Cup during the current international break, and forcing Portugal to settle for the play-offs.
All of this has apparently caught transfer attention.
Spain’s Fichajes say Villarreal have identified the striker as a player they wouldn’t mind signing, giving their success with recent recruits from English football. It’s explained Mitorvic has been ‘undervalued his entire career’, and something ‘curious’ happens when he plays in the Premier League.
According to the report, he doesn’t get the faith required from managers, and is therefore unable to have a big enough impact.
Fichajes say it’d only cost €16m to sign him, yet this seems to be a figure simply lifted from his valuation on Transfermarkt.
One to keep an eye on, but absolutely nothing more at this stage.
