West Ham United paid £45m to Eintracht Frankfurt for Sébastien Haller and in the process, the Hammers made him their club-record signing.
The 26-year-old has managed seven goals and an assist in 30 league appearances in his debut season in England.
According to Le10 Sport, AS Monaco are thinking about signing the striker this summer.
Over the weekend, the Ligue 1 side sacked Robert Moreno and appointed Niko Kovač as his successor. The ex-Bayern Munich boss had the Frenchman at his disposal during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Bundesliga side signed Haller during Kovač’s reign, and he now wishes for his new club to sign the Hammers frontman.
The Croatian coach had the player for one season at Eintracht Frankfurt, where the latter managed nine goals and four assists in the league. Kovač knows the attacker very well, and therefore, Monaco are ‘interested in recruiting’ David Moyes’ man this summer.
Le10, however, have no clarity if West Ham are willing to sell Hallaer, a year after investing heavily on his signing.
Monaco could be without Wissam Ben Yedder next season and they are in the market looking for his successor. Whether it will be Haller or another player remains to be seen.
