Chelsea signed Kenneth Omeruo from Standard Liege in 2012 and the Blues have sent him on loan every season since then.

The Nigeria international spent the last campaign on loan at Leganes, where he made 27 starts in the league. It clearly looks like the centre-back’s performances impressed Mauricio Pellegrino’s side.

Friday’s edition of Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo claims the La Liga club are pressing to buy the 25-year-old from Chelsea.

Leganes’ ‘intention is to negotiate’ the purchase of the player with the west London club, and to seal the operation they are offering €4m.

However, Chelsea are demanding €6m.

Marca are also claiming Chelsea need €2m more than what Leganes have offered for the defender.

Omeruo is currently with the national team and while speaking to the reporters, he responded to the recent reports of Leganes’ interest in a permanent deal.

“I am not aware of Chelsea negotiating with Leganes for my transfer. My agent did not tell me anything of that nature,” Score Nigeria quoted him as saying.
