Inter Milan’s local media have a running theme with several transfers at the moment: ‘Much will depend on the sale of Joao Mario’
In their Friday edition Gazzetta dello Sport have a feature on Inter transfers and several players being targeted, and they add ‘it becomes necessary to complete at least one outgoing transaction’ before a purchase.
First in line is, of course, Joao Mario.
Wolves get a mention once again and it feels very much like there’s an attempt to push the player to the club via Jorge Mendes. Despite that, there’s been no ‘formal offer’ from Wolves. It doesn’t say so, but there may have been no offer at all.
Real Betis have been linked in recent days, but they’re unlikely to pay Inter what they’re hoping for.
The Italian club will almost certainly have to compromise and if that doesn’t involve a loan deal then it’ll mean slashing the price for a permanent move, and at that point Wolves may have a serious look.
It’s all over to the English club at this stage, if they want the player there’s a good chance of getting him.
