Barcelona are looking to bring in a new attacker in the summer window and Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann has been suggested as one of the targets since the last international break.
Journalist Miguel Rico, writing on the last page of the weekend edition of Mundo Deportivo, explains the World Cup winner is not the only option for the Blaugrana as they have also identified Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette.
The Frenchman arrived at the Emirates from Lyon in 2017 and has already scored over 30 goals for the Gunners.
His ability to play up front or anywhere on the wings makes it attractive for Ernesto Valverde’s side because they are looking players who are versatile in attacking positions.
The forward’s agent David Venditelli also represents the Spanish champions technical secretary, Eric Abidal, and Rico claims the Barca chief is ‘very close’ to the Arsenal star, who is valued at €65-€70m.
So far, Lacazette has only been identified as a target and there’s been no negotiations between Barcelona and the player or between the two clubs for a summer transfer.
According to Mundo, Arsenal have made it clear the 27-year-old is not for sale.
