The Bruno Fernandes min-saga rumbles on.

After a few days of the player being pushed strongly towards Manchester City by the Portuguese media, Saturday saw Manchester United pulled back into the picture.

Sunday’s edition of A Bola says both clubs are ‘crazy’ about the signing, and they state Sporting director Hugo Viana was in Manchester at the end of the last week.

This time they don’t specifically say he was there to see City, or that he was there with agent Jorge Mendes.

On Friday, Sport Witness was informed that Mendes hadn’t attended any meeting or done any work on a Bruno transfer, a player he doesn’t represent.

A Bola also point out that Sporting manager Marcel Keizer isn’t being shy when it comes to talking about the potential transfer, saying he believes Bruno will give his all until the end of the season.

Naturally, that’s been taken as a hint this could be his last few matches at the Lisbon club.

Over at Record, they report Manchester United are sending an official to Sporting today. The person in question will be ‘taking notes’ as the Lisbon club play away at Belenenses.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side need to ‘accelerate their efforts’, according to the Portuguese newspaper, mainly because of the competition from Manchester City.

Sporting want to keep Bruno for another season, say Record, but that’s looking increasingly difficult and is maybe just a bargaining stance.
