Fiorentina are hoping Tottenham will make a move for Dusan Vlahovic ‘in the coming weeks’ so they can start a bidding war with Juventus.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who say the Italian side want to play the two clubs against each other to get the best price for their star man.
Vlahovic is the toast of Europe after a series of impressive performances for club and country over the last 18 months.
Juventus are extremely keen on his signature, but so are Tottenham, who want to add another forward to provide competition to Harry Kane, and have set their sights on Vlahovic thanks to Antonio Conte’s and Fabio Paratici’s knowledge of the Italian market.
Their interest has not gone unnoticed by Juventus, and Tuttosport say they will now try as early as January to get Vlahovic because of it.
There are two reasons for this, but the primary one is that they believe waiting until the summer could see them miss out ‘given the competition’ from Tottenham.
Fiorentina, though, want there to be a fight, and Tottenham represent a ‘nice trap’ for them in that regard.
Their hope is that Spurs, or any other English club for that matter, will ‘tempt’ Vlahovic in the coming weeks and thus tempt Juventus into making an offer.
They believe Tottenham can be their ‘great ally’ in this regard, while they also represent an ‘excellent opportunity’ for the player as well.
It will all depend on his decision and where he wants to go, but the fact is, Conte and Paratici want to ‘steal’ him from under Juve’s noses, and this is excellent news as far as Fiorentina are concerned.
