PSV Eindhoven are hoping for a bidding war between Inter Milan and Everton for defender Denzel Dumfries this summer.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say his agent Mino Raiola is working to make one happen.
The newspaper explains that with Achraf Hakimi joining Paris Saint Germain, Inter are on the hunt for a new right-back, and Dumfries is one on their list.
They have around €30m to spend after letting other players go too, and that is the price that is needed to sign Dumfries, including his transfer fee, contract and commissions and fees.
He wants to make a deal happen, and PSV are ‘keen to sell’, but they are hoping for a ‘bidding war’ between the interested parties.
That includes Everton, who are ‘following him’, and it’s believed Raiola can make one happen as he is a ‘master at fuelling it’.
Dumfries prefers to move to Italy over England at this moment in time and, through Raiola, has made this clear to Inter.
That gives them something of an advantage over Everton, but it’s made clear by Corriere that the ‘road remains uphill’ for the Serie A side.
That should give the Toffees a little bit of hope, although at the moment Dumfries is not only getting more expensive but also seems inclined to reject their advances in favour of a move elsewhere.
