Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is a priority target for Manchester United this summer.
Reports coming out of England suggested the Red Devils are now looking at other players as they face difficulties in completing the winger’s signing.
Over the weekend, The Daily Star explained the Old Trafford club have identified Juventus’ Douglas Costa, Atlético Madrid’s João Félix and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale as alternatives to Sancho.
The Portugal international is managed by super-agent Jorge Mendes, who facilitated his €127m move from Benfica last summer.
Mendes also shares a good relationship with United, having played a role in helping Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting in January.
It was suggested Félix’s representative can be an ‘important weapon’ in helping United land Diego Simeone’s man this summer.
Mundo Deportivo have looked at these claims, and they state Atlético have ‘no evidence or concern’ about Mendes helping United sign Félix.
In addition to this, the La Liga side are referring to the 20-year-old’s €300m release clause to ‘facilitate his exit’. His current deal is until 2026, and the claims from England are pretty much dismissed.
Simone largely used Félix as a second striker last season. With United looking for a right winger in the market, the Atlético player may not be the right fit for them.
