Rangers manager Philippe Clement can now expect to have Rıdvan Yılmaz at Ibrox until the end of this season, according to reports.

Galatasaray have been chasing the 22-year-old for the past weeks but didn’t manage to persuade Rangers to let him leave Ibrox.

The window in Turkey is open until Friday and earlier reports had stated the Istanbul club are still trying to convince Philippe Clement’s side. The Turkish club seems to be giving up on the Rangers player if a report from Sabah is to be believed.

Angeliño’s exit has only increased Galatasaray’s need to bring in a left-back before the winter market closes later this week. They were looking for a low-cost deal and preferably Turkish players.

It’s explained that Galatasaray have been keen on Yılmaz and Levent Mercan, and have had meetings to take them away from Rangers and Fatih Karagümrük respectively. However, they weren’t able to agree a deal with the Rangers defender and his compatriot.

Galatasaray seem to have shifted their focus on Eyüpspor’s Caner Erkin. Meanwhile, Millyet claim Hannover’s Derrick Köhn has also been identified as a target.

This is relayed by NTV Spor, who state the Süper Lig side are focusing on Köhn, after giving up on Yılmaz and Mercan. This should please both Philippe Clement and Rangers, who can now relax with the knowledge they will be able to hold on to the player without being bothered until the end of the campaign at the very least.
