Several French reports over the past month or so have stated Clinto Njie is set to remain at Marseille, and won’t be returning to Tottenham Hotspur.
Njie spent last season on loan at the French club, after a drama filled summer which was wrapped around Georges-Kévin N’Koudou’s move to Tottenham.
Earlier this month it was reported that whilst Marseille had a clause which made Njie’s loan permanent, almost automatically, Tottenham also had a clause which meant they could override that should Mauricio Pochettino want the player back at Spurs.
At the time L’Equipe said Tottenham wouldn’t activate their clause, leaving Njie to carry on his career at Marseille, but there’s been nothing official on the matter released by either club.

Well, now Marseille have given the game away, by picturing Njie returning for preseason training with them. The video, tweeted by Marseille, clearly shows that Njie’s future lies with Marseille, and he won’t be going back to Tottenham.
That is unless the Spurs clause still hasn’t run out and they’re set to shock everyone and use it.
