Turkish newspaper Hurriyet report Galatasaray have made significant progress in their pursuit of Oumar Niasse, whose contract with Everton will expire at the end of the season.
It’s reported the Turkish champions will listen to offers for Radamel Falcao because of his high wages, and they could look to replace him with Niasse.
The Senegalese striker has been continuously linked with a return to the Turkish Super Lig, where he played with Akhisarspor during the 2013/14 season, and Hurriyet report this ‘dream’ could turn into reality.
Niasse is said to want a return to Turkey, and the Galatasaray board are especially keen to sign him because they can land him on a free transfer. That’s important, given the club’s finances aren’t in the best shape this summer.
Hurriyet claim an agreement between the two sides will be reached at the end of the season, and the 30 year old will head to Istanbul.
Niasse has made just three appearances for Everton in the Premier League this season and is clearly surplus to requirements, as has been the case for some time.
