Hector Bellerin is in ‘fluid communication’ with Real Betis about a return from Arsenal this summer.
That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who say the economic margins of the deal point to something happening at the end of the transfer market.
The newspaper confirms that the player’s representatives are ‘in talks’ with Arsenal over the next few days so they can reach a ‘satisfactory agreement’ in terms of a contract termination.
Bellerin has made it clear he wants to play for Betis next season but the situation is unlikely to be resolved imminently.
Betis need to sell in order to make room for the fullback but that task is proving to be an arduous one. Thus, sources at the Benito Villamarín believe nothing can be done with Bellerin ‘in less than a month’.
All the signals are pointing towards an end of market agreement being struck rather than anything soon.
Bellerin, meanwhile, is doing his part with Arsenal and Mikel Arteta has given the player the go-ahead to leave.
Arsenal are willing to release him from the last year of his contract as they can save €4m on the books a year early. Bellerin has not considered staying at the Emirates given the competition in his position this season.
He wants the return to his boyhood club but his agent is listening to other offers in Spain in case that does not happen.
