On Friday, Fichajes.net explained Nuno Espírito Santo has ‘demanded’ Tottenham Hotspur sign Granada’s Domingos Duarte.
Later that day, IDEAL stated the defender has a €30m release clause in his contract that expires in 2023, but Spurs are expected to make an initial offer of around €10m.
In his pre-match press conference, Roberto Moreno was directly quizzed about reports linking the 26-year-old to the north London club.
“When you have good players there is a risk that someone wants to take them,” said Moreno, about the ‘important and differential’ player.
“The strange thing is not looking at Domingos Duarte. You have to be prepared, there is a clause and if it is paid you cannot avoid the exit. It is normal that there are rumours and it is even a good sign that things are being done well.”
Romero’s comments and the Premier League side wanting to sign the centre-back has also been discussed by Onda Cero.
Granada host Valencia in the league later today and the report says Moreno’s side welcome Los Ches with a ‘threat of Domingos Duarte leaving’ for Tottenham.
The Spanish club ‘know’ about the English club’s offer and the Portuguese could leave before the window closes.
Onda Cero say Spurs’ offer has ‘convulsed the last hours’ at Granada and ‘overshadowed’ their match against Valencia.
Although Moreno has referenced the player’s €30m release clause, the outlet suggests it remains to be seen whether Granada can ‘hold the pulse’ they have with Durarte, his representatives and his ‘logical wish’ to play in the Premier League.
Interesting days ahead…
