Serie A side Atalanta are signing Mario Pasalic from Chelsea on a permanent deal soon, according to reports from Italy today.

Newspaper Tuttosport claims the club have decided to trigger their buying option for the player, following the great form he’s been enjoying.

It’s recalled that Atalanta didn’t use it last summer, having only extended Pasalic’s loan for a further year. But now that he has four goals and two assists this season, they’ve decided to guarantee the signing.

The Serie A club will be getting Palasic for €15m, which is a ‘sensational’ deal, Tuttosport believe, due to the inflated transfer market these days.

Following this morning’s news, Palasic’s agent Marco Naletilic has been interviewed by website Calcio Mercato. He’s made it clear that the player is keen on making the move, although he couldn’t confirm the information of a permanent transfer yet.

“Our will is clear: we would like to continue the experience at Atalanta. We’d be happy if the club used the right of redemption, because he’s growing and becoming a really important player in the Nerazzurri shirt. I have always thought this, from the beginning of the his arrival in Bergamo, and I repeat it even now that he’s living an exceptional moment.”

The outlet claims we must wait and see if the option will be used in January or in June.
