PSV Eindhoven are planning to speed up their move for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Davy Propper once they’ve finalised a deal for Marco van Ginkel.
That’s according to Eindhoven Dagblad, who say the Brighton man is ‘higher on the list’ than other potential midfield reinforcements for the club.
They explain that despite not yet returning for pre-season, PSV’s efforts in the transfer market are well underway.
They have ‘a number of important nuts to crack’ ahead of their first training session next Friday, and one of the players who will be with that group is Marco van Ginkel, who is close to joining after leaving Chelsea.
Once that deal is tied up, Brighton’s Propper should ‘join soon’ as he is ‘higher on the list’ than compatriot Joey Veerman, and the Eredivisie club want to move quickly to get him.
At this point, there is no mention of a transfer fee or negotiations taking place, but PSV’s interest in the Brighton man is well known.
Back in April, they were linked with a €10m move, and it was stated that the Dutchman was unhappy at the Amex.
This was followed by comments from PSV boss Roger Schmidt, who refused to be drawn on the rumours but insisted they were keen to strengthen.
It seems they’re now on the verge of making their first bid and are keen to get things done quickly as they plan for next season.
