Real Madrid have entered the race for Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after seeing their two priority targets, Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haalandm ‘move away’.
This is according to Sport.
It’s claimed the 30-year-old ‘could go for €50m’ because his contract expires in 2021 and he hasn’t responded ‘affirmatively’ to a renewal proposal.
The Gunners will have last big chance to raise cash from the Gabon striker’s sale in the summer, if he decides against signing an extension before the window opens.
With Real Madrid struggling to sign either of the PSG star or the Borussia Dortmund striker, they are desperately searching for an alternative.
The situation has forced them to look in England and Aubameyang has emerged as an option.
Barca tried to sign Mikel Arteta’s man in January and they even held talks with his representative. According to Sport, this has resulted in a ‘fluid relationship’ between the two parties.
The La Liga winners could turn towards the Arsenal attacker, if they fail to sign Inter’s Martínez.
Sport’s report indicates that Aubameyang is viewed as an alternative target by both Real Madrid and Barcelona and they would only try to sign him if they fail to land their priority objectives.
