Juventus may be about to step up their interest in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre Emile Hojbjerg as directors Cristiano Giuntoli and Giovanni Manna undertake a ‘blitz in London’.

That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, who says the Juventus duo are in London to talk about the January transfer window.

Di Marzio explains that the Juventus managers were present in the stands during Tottenham’s clash with Chelsea on Monday evening after holding ‘contacts and meetings’ with various clubs over transfer opportunities.

They’re on the hunt for new midfielders after losing Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli to long-term bans for a failed drugs test and illegal gambling.

They need replacements to fill the hole in Max Allegri’s squad and Hojbjerg is one of the names they’re looking at.

He’s been a target for the Italian club for a while, with them regularly linked with a move for the Tottenham man throughout the summer and regularly since as he’s barely featured under Ange Postecoglou.

A deal is yet to be struck for him despite that as Tottenham continue to ‘ask a lot’ for the player, who they value at €30m. That makes a transfer ‘very difficult’ at this moment in time.

The interest remains, though, and Manna and Giuntoli are currently together in London talking over potential targets and the Tottenham man is one of them.
