The rumours linking Flamengo striker Gabriel Barbosa to Manchester United continue to be dismissed in Brazil.

Back at the weekend, journalist Jorge Nicola had already featured a video claiming the story is ‘absolutely weird‘, as the 27-year-old hasn’t been playing well enough to be a target for the Red Devils.

Now it’s time for Venê Casagrande to talk about the rumour as well, this time stating that Gabigol is not leaving Flamengo in the near future.

“This doesn’t make any sense. This is bull,” says Casagrande.

Mentioning the gossip about the interest from Manchester United and AC Milan, Casagrande claims no one will want Gabigol at this moment, as he’s already 27 and has been on the bench at Flamengo.

The journalist points out that the player is about to sign a new contract at the Brazilian club, and every time a footballer gets to that kind of situation, he ends up being linked to other clubs.

Flamengo are said to be demanding €20m to let Gabigol leave, and Casagrande claims no European club would ever pay that, as the player is going through his worst time at the club.

So those are now two reliable journalists dismissing the striker’s potential move to Manchester United, and that should be enough to put an end to the rumour.
