According to a claim in the Italian media, it’s unlikely Juventus will come in for Liverpool midfielder Emre Can in the next window.
The German international’s contract with the Premier League side expires next summer, and he’s been linked with a move to the Serie A champions.
Calciomercato claim Juventus will not rush into signing the Liverpool star in the new year, as the Serie A side may be looking to less risky options, with regards to bringing in a midfielder.
The Italian side have identified midfield as an area where they need to strengthen in January, and even though they could possibly sign Can on the cheap, it’s unlikely they will pursue the player in the next window.
It’s been reported Juventus don’t want to repeat the same mistake when they signed Tomás Rincón in the last winter window, who has since left on loan to local rivals Torino. Subsequently they will now look at other options to Can, with Leon Goretzka, Fabinho and Kevin Strootman all possibilities.
There are no reports if Juventus will rekindle their interest in Can next summer, but his future at Liverpool does look uncertain. With no firm sign he will extend his contract to remain at Anfield, Liverpool risk losing him a free transfer at the end of the season.
This could all be a ploy from Juventus to show Can he needs to push for the transfer, if it’s what he really wants.
