RB Leipzig’s football director Markus Krösche has insisted there is no rush for them to turn Angeliño’s loan move from Manchester City into a permanent one.
The City left-back joined the German side on loan until the end of the season in January, despite having only moved to Manchester City from PSV Eindhoven in the summer.
The deal includes an option for Leipzig to make it permanent in the next few months should Angeliño prove to be a success in the Bundesliga.
That is looking likely to happen, with Angeliño having already made himself a first-team regular at the club since making the move.
He’s already managed six appearances all competitions to date, starting and finishing each one of those games, including the win over Tottenham in the Champions League.
Some reports had suggested that Leipzig would have to move quickly should they want to activate that buy clause as Manchester City had included a deadline on the deal.
Krösche, however, insists there is no rush for him or his club at this moment in time.
“There is, of course, a time limit but it’s not like we have to decide in the next four weeks,” he told SportBILD.
“Basically, there are contracts there to be fulfilled, but let’s wait for the next few weeks and see how things develop.
“The fact is as a player, and character, Angeliño fits us perfectly.”
