With Lucas Torreira having a very satisfactory loan spell at Fiorentina, it was no secret the Serie A club would like to reach an agreement with Arsenal to keep him for longer.
The Italian media reported for months that La Viola were trying to match the Gunners demands, with the player himself making it public that he wanted to stay there as well.
This saga, however, is over, and not with a happy ending for Fiorentina. That’s according to a report from Firenze Viola today.
The outlet reports that club director Daniele Prade called the player ‘a few hours ago’ to say they could not reach an agreement with Arsenal, and therefore, he’s set to return to the Gunners.
The story claims that Torreira is set to soon make a social media post talking about his farewell from Fiorentina, who he represented in 35 matches this season.
The midfielder has a contract with Arsenal running until 2023. This was his second loan spell, as he had been sent to Atletico Madrid in the past as well.
