Bought by Watford last summer, Dimitri Foulquier has yet to make an official appearance for the Hornets, spending last season on loan at Strasbourg in France.
A key part of their team as the promoted side managed to stay up right at the end of the campaign, there’s now a good chance the 25-year-old could be returning to France.
According to Goal France, the right-back has already been the subject of two approaches from Reims in Ligue 1, both of which have been rejected by Watford for the time being.
That doesn’t mean they’ve given up, however, as the website claim Remis will ‘continue discussions’ with the Premier League side about a loan for the defender, who is looking for a new challenge.
French clubs still have until August 31st to sign players, so there’s plenty of time in that department, and it would be surprising to see Foulquier stay at Vicarage Road this season.
Perhaps Javi Gracia’s team are just trying to get the best deal possible rather than just happily loaning him out for free.
