Rafa Mir’s decision to join SD Huesca on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the winter 2020 market has paid off.
The striker is impressing in La Liga this season, scoring 12 goals in 30 league matches, which includes six goals in last five matches.
His fine form has caught the attention of several clubs, and three days ago, La Razón reported the 23-year-old has emerged as a new target for Sevilla.
Their local rivals, Real Betis, have emerged as a new suitor for the Wolves owned player. That’s according to Sunday’s edition of AS, who say Manuel Pellegrini’s side ‘closely follow’ the Spaniard, who has ‘exploded’ at Huesca in the last month.
It’s claimed Los Verdiblancos will look to sign a new frontman after this season if one of their current strikers ends up leaving the club.
Mir has been identified as a target and, in the summer, he will have a year left on his contract with the Premier League side.
Taking into account the duration left on his contract and the global pandemic, AS are of the belief Nuno Espírito Santo’s side will not be able to ‘ask too much’ to sanction Mir’s sale.
It’s to be noted Huesca retain an option to make Mir’s stay permanent and the same is not mentioned in AS’ report.
In the event Huesca exercise that option, Real Betis will then have to negotiate with their Spanish counterparts rather than Wolves.
