Odisseas Vlachodimos joined Newcastle from Nottingham Forest earlier this summer on a permanent deal.

The Greek goalkeeper hasn’t featured for the Magpies since his arrival and hasn’t been part of Newcastle’s squad once this season. John Ruddy seems to be the club’s established second-choice behind Nick Pope.

This has made Vlachodimos’ future at St. James’ Park uncertain and a late exit could now be on the cards.

HLN in Belgium today state that joining Anderlecht has emerged as an option for the former Benfica star.

He is, it is reported, ‘close’ to being loaned out to the Belgian giants and there seems to be some amount of hype about the move too, with the outlet excited that he was a €24m signing for Newcastle just some months ago.

Eddie Howe’s side have multiple goalkeepers in the side right now and Vlachodimos’ exit seems like a concrete possibility.

The transfer window in Belgium closes next Friday, so Anderlecht would be in no hurry to seal an incoming move, even if Newcastle’s transfer window slams shut today.
