According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce have almost reached an agreement with Aston Villa winger Trezeguet.

Asist Analiz reporter Safak Malatya claims only minor details need to be sorted out before officially confirming the transfer.

The Egyptian winger, who joined Villa last summer from Turkish club Kasimpasa, has been heavily linked with a return to Turkey, with all three Istanbul giants, Besiktas, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce said to be interested.

According to Malatya, it seems Fenerbahce have won the race for the 25 year old, and he will join the club at the end of the season.

Although Malatya hasn’t given any details, it’s very likely Trezeguet could only join Fenerbahce on a loan deal, as the Turkish side don’t have any transfer budget to spend at the moment because of FFP.

Trezeguet scored two goals at the weekend against Crystal Palace to keep Aston Villa’s hopes of staying up alive. His contract with the club will expire at the end of June 2023.
