For the time being, Diogo Dalot remains a Manchester United player.
The right-back was sent on loan to Milan last season, where he played somewhat consistently, providing much needed back up for the left and the right of the defence.
He impressed Stefano Pioli, so the club have been trying to bring him back, this time on a loan with a view to buy compared to the simple dry temporary spell with no option to make the move permanent they had last season.
Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting on Monday that he remains on the club’s list for next season as he’s ‘ideal’ for their needs, and they want to ‘benefit’ from his versatility and attributes once more.
Their objective at this moment in time is to ‘beat the Manchester United resistance’, who have been said to want to sell the defender outright if they can, or at least make the option to buy compulsory.
We’ll have to wait and see what comes of the talks between Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and their Italian counterparts, but Gazzetta make it clear that ‘Milan have chosen, they want Dalot’.
