After making 33 starts in the league for Athletic Club Bilbao, Unai Nunez has a handful of starts in La Liga this term.
Last weekend, we carried a report from AS, who claimed the defender is attracting interest from the Premier League, with Cardiff City, Crystal Palace and Watford believed to looking at option of landing him.
Tuesday’s edition of the same publication once again mentions interest from the aforementioned clubs in the centre-back.
The Bluebirds want him on loan, while the other two sides are willing to pay €20m to complete the transfer.
The Basque club’s new president Aitor Elizegi and new sporting director Rafa Alkorta are unwilling to accept the proposals made by Neil Warnock’s side, the Eagles or the Hornets for the 21-year-old.
Having signed an extension in October 2017, Nunez’s current deal at Bilbao runs down in 2023 and has a release clause of €30m.
Elizegi and Alkorta are clear than unless any of the clubs decide to trigger the player’s buyout clause, he will continue in Bilbao beyond the January transfer window.
